Double room available from mid June

Double room available in an amazing location!

I am a PhD student in mathematics at the University of Edinburgh and looking for someone to take over my flatmate’s room as she is finishing her degree and will be moving out mid June.

The current price is £580 all bills included, but it is likely to increase a bit during the change tenancy. I am ideally looking for a master’s or PhD student to share the flat for council tax reasons, but if you’re willing to cover the council tax on your own that would be fine too.

The Edinburgh University central campus at George Square is about 10mins walk aways and there is a bus right downstairs from the flat taking you to King’s building in 15 mins.

The flat is nice and cosy, I really enjoy living there! There is one bathroom with a bathtub, a kitchen with a microwave, an oven, fridge, freezer, laundry machine and a dishwasher. The living room is sunny, you see nice trees from its windows. The bedroom gives out on the garden and has a view on Arthur’s seat. It is overall very quiet and a great location as the meadows are right outside the door. The windows are single glazing, but the heating works well.

I have one year left of my PhD so I am looking for someone who will be staying at least until August 2025. Otherwise a little more about me: I come from Switzerland and I’m doing research in mathematics. I will be very focused on my PhD this year and I tend to be quite busy so I like my home to be the calm relaxing place that I go back to. It’s especially important for me to get good sleep so I like that we keep quiet at a reasonable time in the evenings. Otherwise I enjoy cooking, I go to dance classes quite often, I hang out with my friends on the week-end. I would like for us to have a nice atmosphere at home, just chat about our days every now and then, maybe play board games or eat together if we ever feel like it.
